Gray cast iron
The carbon content of gray cast iron is close to eutectic composition, the crystallization temperature interval is small, the melting point is low, the crystallization of graphite precipitation, volume expansion, can offset part of the shrinkage of the casting, so the overall shrinkage is reduced, good fluidity. Such as grey cast iron of pouring temperature during 1200 ~ 1280 ℃, said bad liquidity spiral length is 600 ~ 1200 mm, total volume shrinkage rate is between 6.9% ~ 7.8%.
Carbon steel casting
The carbon content of cast steel is 0.25% ~ 0.45%. Cast steel high pouring temperature (about 1500 ℃, liquidity is poor, spiral line length is 100 mm, shrinkage, total volume shrinkage rate was 12.4%, and the easy inhalation and oxidation in the melting process, and therefore cast steel casting performance is poor, easy generation adhering sand, misrun and cold shut, defects such as shrinkage cavity, crack, air hole.
Non-ferrous metal
Copper alloy has low melting point and good fluidity. Tin bronze casting temperature is 1040 ℃, spiral line length is 420 mm, silicon brass pouring temperature is 1100 ℃, spiral line length is 1000 mm. Copper alloy is easy to oxidize when smelting, and some copper alloys (such as lead bronze) are easy to produce density segregation.
Aluminum alloy pouring temperature is lower, generally in the 680 ℃ spiral length is 700 ~ 800 mm. Aluminum alloy is easy to be inhaled and oxidized under high temperature, which affects its mechanical properties. Therefore, it is necessary to isolate the contact between alloy liquid and furnace gas during smelting and adopt some purification measures.
